5 Fills...7.5CC's and really cant eat...Need guidance

Recommended Posts

Hey All

In May, I had my 5th fill which puts me at 7.5 cc's in the 14cc realize band. Since I got that fill I can tell u that two bites of anything and I am full...to the point where there is throwing up at times with alot of slime. I am tight all day and I find that I am drinking more than I am eating, But it is usally juice, and soda(which hurts...but I crave it) I do not want to have an unfil what I want to do is find things that I can eat. I know there are others like me on here and I would love to find out what you know. Thanks in advance!

You may not want to get an unfill, but you NEED to. You're too tight. You're resorting to high calorie liquids instead of getting your nutrition from solid foods. You've been like this for 2 months? Being too tight puts you at greater risk for band slippage and erosion. You don't need advice for food to eat-- you need to get an unfill! Really, truly.

Get an unfill... you are on the road to failure and or band slippage. You need to find the exact right spot... IT'S THERE. Get a little taken out!

I'm at 7.5 in a 10cc band, and I finally think I am in the green...though I can’t imagine not being able to eat anything. You need to find your green zone to be able to live your life without the obsession of food, including the band...be it too tight or you too hungry. The point is to be able to re-train yourself how to eat, to where there is little thought process behind it. If you have to worry about if you can eat or what you can only eat, it is taking the training method out of the tool. Please try a tiny un-fill, and see how it fits you, and then take it from there.

im at the doctors right now getting an unfill. I was the same way as you and it is getting tighter each day. I have thrown up twice this week. So I am going to have her take out .20 and see if that makes a difference.

I think u should go in and have a tiny bit removed.

Call your Dr.'s office, and explain everything to them. Then ask them if you can be unfilled under Fluoroscope, (it's like a x-ray machine for Organs, and in this case the band.) You have a fill line in that band, he can unfill you to the fill line, and you should be a lot happier... That's up to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
