Hey Guys!!!

I'm having my psych evaluation today at 3:30 pm... I'm a little nervous, as I don't know what to expect.. After that, I'm back to my weight loss doctor and nutritionist.... Just wanted to share where I was in the process.. 5 and a half months to go!!!! How is everyone doing so far???

I did mine on Friday. Mine was basically just questions. How I came to this decision, my eating habits, how i feel now, my marriage, kids, etc. I think my consult lasted about 40 min. This was the last specialist I needed to see, hopefully I can get a schedule date at my next visit with the surgeon. Good luck on your journey!

Well...my psych eval was rescheduled due to some emergency w/ the doctor.. but I had my appointments w/ the dietician and my WL doc.. Basically, I haven't been eating enough and my blood sugars go from one extreme to the other.. Thus, I have to stick my finger and check my glucose each day.. plus, I have to take metformin because my fasting glucose level was 120. I'm a mess today because I've never had problems w/ my blood sugars and now, I have to stick myself and take meds!!! My doc was trying to reassure me that this is a precaution to make sure I don't develop pre diabetes or diabetes.. but, I'm UGH!!!! I cried for about 2 hours last night because I'm so pissed w/ myself to let this happen!! And to think, when I was eating like crazy, I was losing weight and had good levels... Anywho, I guess I just needed to vent!!.. Oh, and I was vit D deficient.. So, I have to take 4K IU daily!!! UGH.. More pills!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
