I was banded June 1st.

Been doing really well very quickly. My first fill appointment isn't until 7/22. But, I want it now! I have no restriction. I can eat basically anything! I am making healthy choices, but I don't feel full at all, ever. I haven't had any PBing or reflux.

I did drink a sip of diet Coke and burped like crazy, so I know the band is in there. I just hate going through the procedure, totally changing my eating habits and felling like nothing has changed.

My husband had the procedure on the same day and he is feeling restriction. He can't eat too much without taking a break and slowing down.

I am losing weight very slowly (as to be expected). But I want my fill!!! I am so afraid of stretching my pouch before my fill.

How long did you guys have to wait before having your first? I am thinking of rescheduling my appointment for something sooner. I have this tool and I want to use it to it's full potential. Thanks for listening everyone and let me know what you did. I appreciate any help and advice!

I had a fill but it only did me well for about 3 days. I want my second fill-this is nuts! I mean we had frikken surgery-yes surgery! WHy the hell wait so long between fills that aren't working! I am getting frustrated too.

My next fill is on the 22nd too-I called to see if they could see me sooner and they were booked solid until August-until August!!! Make sure when you meet with the doctor you are very clear that you have NO restriction, Good luck to you!

It seems all the doctors have their own way of doing fills. My doctor makes us come in once a month for first four months for fills and then you just call when you feel you need one. I see some on here that have not had a fill even six months after surgery. I know you want to move this along but enjoy what you got in the moment also. Once you reach restiction it is constant adjusting..... to loose then too tight.

Hang in there, Enchilada. It's a process that we have to go through. You sound as though you are doing all of the right things so just keep up the good work - remember, you are building good habits for the rest of your life. It's great that you and your husband are going through this together, but don't get caught up comparing yourselves all the time as the band, fills, etc all work at a different pace for each of us.

Good luck and chin up!

remember men do tend to lose weight faster then women so try not to compare to him.

Thank you all for your help and advice. I am not comparing my weight loss to my husband's. He has always been able to lose much faster than I have. That was a given... I was only comparing our restriction. It just seems his band is working like it should, where mine seems not tight enough. That is OK... I was just venting. I find now I am craving different foods (bad foods), and not having restriction makes the devil in me think it is OK to eat. I just have to let the process work and in time things will work out. Again, thank you all for listening and letting me vent.... Best of luck to you all!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
