So , I am going to start the process this week. I have only one concern that I was hoping I could get some feedback and insite to. My concern is that I dont want to dread meals. I still want to be able to sit down with my family and enjoy dinner. I have heard some negative reactions to this . What can ya'll tell me?

I just went out to dinner with 11 other people and I enjoyed myself. I ate off the menu, ordered an appetizer then shared it because I was full, but I had a blast! Don't fear eating with people, just pay attention to what your body tells you, it will tell you when enough is enough. Good luck

I agree. Listen to your body. It will tell you when you are full. Most places now have a "Healthy " menu. Order off that. I always do and its not bad. If you have a newer phone you can download "my fitness pal" and it will tell you what is in what and calories... ect.

I eat out often (i.e. at least twice per week!) My husband and I order meals to share, which means that we each get a a small bowl or plate to serve our food into from the main plate. I simply place the amount I intend to eat in my bowl and he serves himself the rest. Our friends don't notice and my husband is supporting my efforts. I don't overeat this way, and I still have a great time.

While you shouldn't dread meals you may start to think of meals simply as times when you eat to get energy - the ideal way to think about food.

Don't eat if you're not hungry. Even if you're with others. And learn how to eat smaller when out. It's tempting to try to eat what others do but you have to hold yourself back. Avoid foods you know could cause problems like Pasta and bread. Stick with Soups and other easy to eat things.

As you learn your band you'll learn how you can eat, what's safe and what isn't.
