Please forgive me if this has been posted before. I was just surfing around the net and stumbled across this site. Has some excellent recipies and other info. Seems to be a bit more for RNYers, but does have some great info for bandsters. http://store.bariatriceating.com/

LOVE this website. :clap2: I've been ordering my Protein from them since before surg. The nectar cappucino is GREAT. The AchieveOne Latte is out of this world. :) I add the nectar Roadside Lemonaid to my Crystal Light drinks. It's been the best way for me to get Protein in. I have NEVER had any problems ordering over the web and everything is delivered timely. You can't go wrong by ordering.

Her book is great too! Wonderful recipes. Can you tell I'm a fan :)

Hi Janet, this is Janet (LOL)....I'm going to be banded on 1/31 (coming up quick!), and have been researching Protein powders/drinks endlessly. Do you like the RTD Isopure that this website has? I need something for those quick binds at work or in my car so that I don't make a wrong choice. I;ve been on liquids since Thur (5 day liquids pre-op), and have been basically disgusted with powders. The only thing I have been able to do to "masK' the powders is throw in a spoon of Peanut Butter. So how are these drinks? Aftertaste?

Thanks!

Janet in SC

Hello,

I've been lurking, but when I saw this topic I just had to post. I can't say enough about this website. The order processing and shipping is so fast!

If you are going to be banded, I recommend purchasing the "protein tasters packs." I honestly don't think there was a single one in there I hated.

The pre-made RTD "smoothies" are very good, but a bit too sweet for my tastes. Since my surgery (12/12/05) I have limited myself to less than 6 grams of sugar per meal. I find that I can't tolerate too much sweetness, artificial or otherwise now. You may be different.

My favorite is the Matrix 5.0. The chocolate is great and mixes very well with just a cocktail shaker. However, do yourself a favor and purchase a stick blender as well. The Achieve One lattes are also awesome if you like that kind of flavor.

In short, this site has made it completely enjoyable for me to get all my Protein. I also have a bottle of the chipolte BBQ Sauce and use it to mush up my chicken and fish. So good!

Her book is excellent as well. Even though she didn’t have the lapband (I think she had the RNY), her log of the mental struggles of being fat and loosing weight are inspirational.

Kelly

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
