Noah's Mommie 0 Posted July 9, 2011 Hello, i have been informed by my trainer my weight loss has stalled because I am not eating enough food. I barely eat 800-1000 (which i know is bad) but with me being 315 lbs and working out 6-7 times per week, I can understand I need more!!! So I am wondering how in the world I will be able to manage to eat 2800-3000 per DAY??? Help any suggestions.....anyone eating this much????
Rachel412 116 Posted July 9, 2011 Is that how much your trainer told you to eat? Wow. Well... gosh
Mimilou2004 13 Posted July 9, 2011 That is a huge number of calories but at 315 you should still lose wt...eventually as your wt comes down so should your calorie consumption...I have read that each pound of scale wt needs 10-15 calories a day to sustain itself and maintain wt, It takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 pound.....that includes calories burned and calories omitted. Many ppl will argue that it isn't that simple, but in the long run I have found that it is that simple, barring Fluid shifts from certain medication and salt intake. Best wishes on your journey and good for you for having a PT!!! Mimi
ssankofa73 2 Posted July 9, 2011 That sounds excessive to me but maybe your trainer wants you to trick your body so it gets out of starvation mode. I had a trainer about 10 years ago that helped me lose 25 lbs who told me to follow a diet Mon. through Fri. but then on the weekends I could cheat all I wanted. It worked and I lost the weight within 3 months. Maybe you could do it for 2 days on the weekend then go back to your normal 1000 calories per day then see what happens. What concerns me is that you don't want to start eating large amounts of calories on a regular basis or you'll slip back into old habits. Run this idea past your trainer and let us know what he/she says.
azbtrfly 2 Posted July 9, 2011 I dont watch my calories, just eat Paleo and have continued to lose weight. I eat a lot of good fats, like coconut oil, lots of Protein. That amount of calories seems high but if they're from the right foods it might still work.
Noah's Mommie 0 Posted July 9, 2011 Yes, that is the plan to trick my body to actually get out of starvation mode and start to burn calories.....my issue is that i DONT LIKE to chew food so this will definately be a challenge but I have to try something.....I literally work out everyday sometimes twice a day and I burn about 1400-1800 calories while doing so So......one would think I should be losing rapidly but I am not so I am willing to try. Noah's Mommie 0 Posted July 9, 2011 thanks!!! It is a lot but the calculators I have found match what he is telling me to do so we will see how this works..... reverie 49 Posted July 9, 2011 I eat 2300 some days..but that's due to working out. 3200 seems like way too much for anyone trying to lose weight, even though you do weigh 315lbs. But..I guess if it works then no one can say it's too much.
