Hello Everyone!

I have a question and would really love it if I could get peoples opinions on it. Ok, so I am finally scheduled to get my surgery! Yay! I am really really interested in international work. For instance I really want to go to Europe or Asia and work as a teacher, or possibly as a live in worker for families or something along those lines. So I was wondering if that is alright with having Lap-Band. I mean im not planning on doing any of this till maybe like Late-Summer or Fall of 2012. I was just wondering about that. Most definately fine. Apart from getting fills and stuff... but I'm sure you could find a doctor there to do it!

Should be fine. Lapband originated in Sweden in 1985 and was being used throughout Europe by 1993. It wasn't FDA approved in the US until 2001. They have way more experience with it than we do. You should have no trouble finding a doctor if you need one!

Thank you both for your replies. This makes it easier for me to get it. I mean, I am scared. I havent ever had surgery at all. Just got the pre-op butterflies. I wouldnt want this to ruin my chances to travel the world.
