Kandye 0 Posted July 8, 2011 So I'm 25 and weighting 292 pounds. At first I looked at the mirror and actually felt comfortable with myself. I'm asthmatic, so exercising is hard and the pounds kept piling. I went to the doctor a month ago and he send me to do every single test there is. When I went to my second appointment 2 days ago I was shocked. I'm just points away from becoming diabetic and all my cholesterol levels are high, I'm starting to have lower back pains and cramps on the thigh/hip area. The doctor did not think twice and asked me if I was willing to take the lap-band challenge to better my health, I said yes. I will not deny I am really nervous to be starting this process, since I have been heavyset most of my life... I hope is for the best.

Love it here, but miss the city. I grew up in Germantown. Where do you live? I am to be banded on next Wednesday. I am nervous and excited at the same time. I am much older than you, but I have diabetes now and I weigh what you weigh now. I have lost 47 pounds since last October on a six month dr. supervised diet. I think it is good that you have the opportunity to turn your bad health around while you are young. I'm sure everything that is ailing you now will become a thing of the past once you lose weight. You will essentially be saving your life. Don't be scared, look at it as a journey. It's a good thing and a smart doctor to recommend it for you. Keep us posted and add me as a friend. I feel so much better, in just 3 weeks. You can do it! Keep in touch. Lynn
