Day 7 post OP and not feeling much restriction or fullness tonight...

Recommended Posts

I am 6 days post op and it takes me an hour to get down 4oz of a Protein Drink. I feel hungry, then slow sips and then when I am satisfied I stop and save the rest for later. I try not to eat until I am full, because after feeling satisfied about 30 minutes later I feel very full, I have been on liquids and blended cream Soups, still have no desire for food, even when I am cooking for my kids. But I can only get down 4oz at the most at a time. Is this normal?

Sounds like we are both feeling the same way. Nothing is filling me up and I don't feel different when I eat, unlike a handful of other bandsters.

I have been having issues sticking with what the Dr. says for the diet. liquid only for 4 weeks? I have added some soft/mushy foods because I start to get the shakes.

Good luck and I hope when you get a fill you feel a little better when you're eating.

Redhead girl brilliant link, in just having a look at it now. I am 2 and half weeks banded and I am stuggling to lose any weight. I know this is the time for healing but I hear loads od people on here losing big time, all in all with 1 week post op diet I have lost 10pm! Granted I wouldn't have as much to lose as others, I am 222lbs now but still???? I didn't realise I had to eat more Protein, this is probably where I have been going wrong. You site has given me a good insure to what I have to do , thank you so much

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
