Daniella 1 Posted July 6, 2011 Hi everyone, My name is Daniella. I live in Houston. I was just banded today. I'm excited to be on this new journey. I'm in a little pain and the gas is irritating. But my biggest problem right now is the inability to truly urinate. My bladder is full, but I can't fully empty yet. that's how I found this site. I was trying to search on google to see if there was any help on this. I know this is a big lifestyle change for me. I welcome it. there are many goals I am trying to get to. That is what keeps me pushing forward. I look forward to making new friends and learning from others.

ashleighnc 0 Posted July 6, 2011 Congrats on being banded today! I also had the urinating problem, I began pushing down a little preassure and it helped, but it took until the next day for me to feel normal in that area again. Good luck and CONGRATS!!!!!!!! highland 168 Posted July 6, 2011 My sister, who is an RN, came to be with me through my surgery. It was so nice having a knowledgable person to help with questions. The anesthesia is the cause of the trickling urine. things will return to normal in about a day and a half. Make sure you walk, walk, and walk some more to get rid of the gas pains. It's the only real thing that works!! Good luck!

bluekerry 3 Posted July 7, 2011 I am an OB RN. It is not unusual for post-partum patients to have problems urinating. 2 tricks I learned is turning on the faucet of the sink while attempting to go and/or taking a sip of lemon juice. If neither method works, CALL your Doc. Never hesitate to call your Doc with any problem. Welcome, and good luck.
sandy1 1 Posted July 7, 2011 Hello Daniella, Welcome from another Houstonian. Good luck and hope your recovery goes smoothly. You should begin to feel better in the next couple of days. Get up and move around/walk as much as you can.
lancelynch22 0 Posted July 7, 2011 Hey Daniella - I got banded yesterday and experienced the SAME problem. It improved drastically today. And yes, WALK, WALK, WALK to keep the gas pains away... they're currently OWNING me right now, but I'm trying to walk through them.
