No Restriction at ALL! Is this right? 4 wks out.

Recommended Posts

I'm 3-1/2 weeks post op and just told my friend today that I feel no restriction. I have heard the term "Bandsters Hell" and never realized what it was. It makes sense to me now. I can cope with this, but it just messes with my mind. I just have to train myself not to dwell on food. Today I cooked a variety of things for a famly cookout and caught myself sampling the dips and Desserts I had made. I was hoping this stuff would vanish, but I knew it woudln't! I hopefully have my first fill he 15th and can't wait. We can make it through this, so let's hang together! We got this!! Good LUck!

This topic is making me feel so much better. I got banded with my mom and aunt on June 16 and they're both doing pretty well. I feel completely like I did before which means HUNGRY. It's been making it very difficult to stick with my post op diet and therefore I gained a couple of pounds back. It really helps knowing that others are going through this same thing. I have my post op appointment today and will hopefully get scheduled for my first fill!

Glad to see this posting. I am just 12 days post op and am feeling some restriction, but not as much as earlier last week. Still on thick liquids and go on mushies on Thursday. I guess NOT feeling as much restriciton means my body is healing and the majority of swelling has gone down. Good things all around. Think I need to get some of the non flavored Protein Powder to supplement my Protein intake. Not much protein in soups!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
