Today is my one year bandiversary!!! I cant believe that one year has gone by so fast but at the same time so slow. I know that I could not be where I am at without the help of my family, close friends, and all the wonderful support from everyone at Lap Band Talk. Everyone here is on the same page or went through something we are going through. I am so proud to be a part of this community. THANK YOU EVERYONE! Every post you make, and every comment you make helps a person in need. Although I am not at the one year goal weight that I thought I would be at, I am still very proud of the weight that I have lost! And with all the help and support that we show each other on LBT, we will all reach our goals! :)

Oh my goodness, even if you didn't make a number goal, look at where you are! Those # goals are hard to make once you set them! Our bodies sometimes just do not comply and we say we want to lose 10, but we only lose 9. Did we fail? Oh, I don't think so, we LOST 9 pounds!!!

That's why I never set goal #s. Mine are more behavior based.

You've done awesome!! Keep up the GREAT work!

Happy bandiversary! You made a year and going strong. And if you hadn't had your band would you have lost what you did? I know my answer is "NO". You are doing great. Congrats and keep up the good work. Karen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
