Ok, I am in the process of trying to get everything together for insurance approval. And in the process think I have come addicted to lapbandtalk.com. I keep reading about this dreaded Protein intake requirement, I really dont do well with drinking things that are nasty.....it includes gagging, vomiting, etc.....Is there not a liquid shot (like the 5 hour energy shot by mouth) or Gummy protein to I can take......lol!! Im laughing to keep from crying!!! lol

Getting in the Protein really isn't hard. I go for no less than 65g per day. Pick your favorite flavor and roll on. I am the same way, if it tastes nasty it aint going down. Slim Fast power or Canation Instant Breakfast with skim milk, touch of instant coffee, ice and a blender. 1/2 cup OJ, drop of lemon juice, 1/4c s milk, ice and blender. These two got me through in the beggining. Lots of smoothie receipes are out there. I can't stand soy protein, it does not disolve. I use whey power in vanilla from Wal-Mart, with whaterver fruit I have in the freezer. powder milk added to these will add extra protein. Good luck

They do have "shots" and "bullets" you can order online and Walmart has some shots too. When looking for them at walmart, they are by all the Protein powder/bars and are in a test tube type container. I think they taste better when added to ice Water.< /p>

If you don't like 'milkshake' type Protein Drinks try Isopure Zero Carb - it's like crystal light, pure crystal clear Protein. Vitamin Shoppe online is a good place to order it by the case. Any Gold's Gym should have it in their cooler though so you can go buy some to try the flavors.

Just find a drink that you like. Get samples. Personally I could not even swallow a sip of the bullet. I tried it's so nasty. The clear ones are nasty, I tried mixing crystal light or look aid with them, still disgusting. Unjury makes good shakes though, try those

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
