nanahanna 1 Posted January 27, 2006 When you say gas, are you talking about flatulence...or is it heartburn type gas? I have heard that liquid Mylecon helps with gas pains...also some have said they use GasX. Have you tried that? Hope you feel better soon!
Wendiss 0 Posted January 27, 2006 Congrats to all the new bandsters. Happy to hear everyone is home a dealing w/their new band.Sorry to hear some of you are experiencing gas pain. I was banded on the 23rd and I feel great. Had very very little pain from the gas or anything else. Oh yeah, if my friends would quit making me laugh I wouldn't have any pain at all. Laughing, sneezing and coughing just kill. I actually thought about going to work this morning, but decided to stay home one last day. Already working on figuring out if I am hungry or if I just want to chew on something. Just about over this liquid stage.

WannaBeHealthy 0 Posted January 27, 2006 Sharon Thanks for the note back. THis gas is coming out of both ends - belching and passing gas to the point of having diarhea. The belches start with a very heavy feeling in the middle of my chest that eventually turn into a belch. it happens whether I am drinking something or just walking (not drinking anything). I bought Gas X but I heard that this won't help gas from the surgery.

WannaBeHealthy 0 Posted January 28, 2006 Thanks! Now if only I could get rid of this gas! This morning, I felt great (day 3 home). and today was the day that I am supposed to add skim milk, yogurt, Protein Shake. Well, I'm not hungry so though the day, I forced in a half shake, two yogurts, a broth, a pudding (made with skim). If I add it up, it is far from enough Protein, but I just can't get anymore in. Plus, now that it is evening, I feel awful! It's been a couple of hours since my last bite of yogurt, and my chest is heavy with gas (which is painful) suddenly a horrible feeling came over me as my body was preparing to vomit. What is going on? Any advice would be great. Thankyou. :cry

hairagain 0 Posted January 28, 2006 Hi to all and wecome to bandland to you new folks. I was banded on the 19 and have had next to no trouble. A little gas from the beginning. I was so hungry from the beginning but it is better now. I am on full liquids now. Cream Soup and pudding etc. Each day gets better. I went back to work on the 5th day and did okay. Had a back ache from the gas they give you. You know the stuff to inflate the belly so they can see in the bady cavity. My trouble is the food cravings. I want to eat. I feel good and want to eat. Won't take a chance but my mind keeps trying to do the debate thing. I have another week on full liquids. I hve already lost about 15 lbs. It was a little more but once I went to full liquids I got a couple pounds back. I won't have a fill for awhile so I will need to find will to control the eating urge. My best to ya !!! Hang on it gets better. I found out the sooner I quit the pain meds the gas and everything improved. I also found out when I started walking more I felt better. I went out and walked a little. Slow but at least I was moving. Darlene
