pattigirl 0 Posted June 29, 2011 My surgery was scheduled for June 30. I changed my mind 3 days ago. I am 56 yrs. old and my dr. sent me for all kinds of tests.Stress test, blood work-up. I've had 3 blood clots in one of my legs. The hemotologist warned me that I probably develope another one after surgery. That was enough to change my mind. Now, I am determined to loose weight on my own! I joined Weight Watchers, which, by the way, I've had luck with in the past. I am joining a gym. Good luck to everyone. And to myself! Cindy C 150 Posted June 29, 2011 Walking after surgery will help ward off blood clots. They can also insert a "screen" to stop a clot from traveling. I would discuss it with your surgeon before making a definite decision. Good luck with whatever you decide!
