bluekerry 3 Posted June 28, 2011 I have been banded since June 9th. I am very lucky and have not been hungry at all. I work hard to get in all my Protein requirements every day. My question is: "How do tell when you are full?" I usually stop eating after I've eaten 1/2 cup or so. Sometimes I feel pain in my left shoulder and I always stop eating when I feel the pain. I say my surgeon yesterday and he said I may never need a fill since I have no hunger. Anyone never needing a fill.
Rachel412 116 Posted June 28, 2011 Lucky! Yes, we have a few people on the board who have never needed any fill. I think you're doing great so far! How much does your doctor tell you to eat at one sitting? Seems like my doctor advocates larger portions than some others- I'm supposed to have my 4 oz. of Protein, then up to a cup of veggies, then if I'm still hungry, up to a 1/2 cup of grains. So I generally measure out my meal and stop eating when it's gone. It's just easier for me that way!
joleng5 9 Posted June 28, 2011 i had my surgery june 9th also. I'm glad to hear that you are doing great and not hungry, i wish i could say the same. I don't really have any restriction yet so im trying to watch my portions so i continue to lose until i can get my fill in 3 weeks. Does your surgeon leave any Fluid in at time of surgery? mine doesn't he wants the first 6 weeks to be just about healing.
