Nice, Wheelchair!

Brie, feel free to ask whatever you want. We are here to help each other. Yes, practically every topic under the sun has been discussed here but, good luck finding the answers you're looking for. No one here minds answering again.

Hi Brie..... I think we ALL wondered the exact same thing early on. It probably will happen at some point as you slowly return to a "real food" diet. Like above posters, it is pain that can be downright horrible but. My advice would be just to always go real slow when "introducing" a new food to your band especially something real dense/solid. It really varies across the board as far as which foods give which people trouble. Unfortunately, sometimes it comes down to trial and error with some foods. Just take it slow with small bites and lots of chewing as you move back into a solid diet. Best of luck :)

wheelchair..I'm not a moderator but could you direct future comments about LBT's "search" function to the "LBT suggestion" thread.... That way we can streamline the unnecessary ridiculous info...

If no one posted things online, google wouldn't work very well anyway....I'm just sayin.

I don't have anything to add but I am recently banded so the info others posted helped me, too. Thanks!

Just logged on today. When I saw Wheelchairs' post, it almost made me log off the board.

But I stayed on line and am so glad I saw everyone's comments.

I am a newbie, too. This info helped me a lot.

I began to experience "stuck" after my second fill. But that was my personal experience. Everyone on here is shareing thier personal experience which will vary from person to person. Your questions and concerns are valid and not having info can be very frightening. I sought as much knowledge as possible prior to my surgery and attended 8 months of classess. After the surgery I realized how much I didnt know. We are here for you. Don't hesitate to ask anything. My greatest need post surgery was to find folks who had been through this before me and here about it, sometimes over and over. All the best to you!

Hi briemarrow,

I havent had the experience of getting anything"stuck" at this point and I pray I never do. I wanted to tell you DONT EVER STOP ASKING QUESTIONS!! if someone doesnt want to answer them, then they should just keep right on past the thread. There are a few negative people on this site, but dont let them discourge you, there are far more poeple willing to answer any and all questions. I'm sure as more new people join there are repeats of questions..sooooo what, that's why this forum is here. best wishes to you!:D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
