HarperClaire 0 Posted June 25, 2011 It has been 3 years since my surgery, I originally lost around 40lbs. The place I had it done didn't have any support groups and I had to learn everything through trial and error. I pretty much stayed at that weight for a year, I would have the band tightened only to get horrible reflux and then they would loosen it. I never lost anymore weight but I didn't gain any either. I missed eating like other people, and I found ways to cheat like chips and chicken nuggets I can eat but regular chicken or any beef and most fruits are a no go. My husband and I wanted a 2nd child so we tried for the last 2 years and we just had a little girl 2 months ago. It was bliss to be able to eat a banana I only gained 25lbs with my daughter and that left with delivery and now I'm starting over. I have my band filled on tuesday and I think it's really tight, I'm not eating 1 tenth of what I was and and I know I need to drink Water but getting it down is hard, maybe f I hold on I'll lose weight quickly and the band will loosen. I feel moments of great hope that this time it will be better I need a support system. Other times I feel like getting it reversed....like what did I do to myself, I can't eat dinner with my family or eat with friends. Feeling like a social misfit and I guess in general sorry for myself. Will try to stay positive and learn from all of you out there.

YngGram 73 Posted June 27, 2011 From what I have seen every person can eat different things. I can eat some days that I can't eat others. I even can eat something for lunch WILL NOT go down for dinner. With a fill your stomacha can be irriated and needs a few days to recover., My doc has me not eat before a fill and then liquids for 2 days and then 2 days of soft foods. Get in the Water, or at least a water based product like Crystal Light. I use a 32 oz McD cup, fill it and I'm done when I have drank it twice.
Coco's Mum 1 Posted June 27, 2011 Maybe you could go to another surgeon and see if they have a support group? Or a nutritionist who can help? This board is also a huge source of info (for me anyway). Good luck ...
