AFwife03 0 Posted July 7, 2011 August 2!!! So happy!!!!
anewchapter 0 Posted July 7, 2011 Great news, so happy for you. Start my pre op diet on aug. 2 . Did they give you a list of liquids yet to use? I have been getting them in the house so I can be prepared. Was told that was the best route so you don't have to guess......"now what do i drink today"..... So ready for our journey to start. bigred77 Thanks. Acutally my pre-op diet is not a liquid diet....just very reduced cals, no sugar, no carbs (except veggies). I only looked at it once when I received the binder of information. Good luck to you
Mscarter007 0 Posted July 7, 2011 I am so anxious that its nerve racking. I see my nutritionist on Monday so i'll have my list of "must haves" next week. I guesstimate my liquid diet to start on the 20th. I will also be purchasing a blender (I want the Ninja), scale, and measuring cups. If there are anymore suggestions of "must haves" that anyone can think of please try to copy/paste the previous list and add on.

You might want to try some different Soup broths and Protein drinks ahead of time so you will have something you actually will like drinking. I have the special K drinks and Lipton onion Soup mix(will have to strain) (bought me a little strainer to fit on cup) and tried the Meijers Protein Drink mix ,,,,, it is ok but for the calories the special K drinks are better to me. Also putting in a stock of sugarfree Jello since it is on my list and sugarfree popcicles. If you know of anything share with us.
bobrocky 8 Posted July 7, 2011 Now that I've handed in everything, I was told I will have to wait up to two weeks for Cigna to approve me. Praying for sooner rather than later. I'd like to be on solids before I go back to work in September. Luckily, my school directors are being very supportive of this change for me, even if it means I miss some work. They've been so great. ( I think it's because my director is a very large woman herself and want's to see how I do on this. )

The wait for me has been the hardest thing.Had to wait the 6 months for my insurance to pay for it. It is great that you have a good support.

You can still make it for August but you may have to do mushies for school. Its not that bad because that can be Soup or salad.

ms.lady 3 Posted July 7, 2011 I completed my psych eval today, and was given the thumbs up. Now just waiting for the nutrition and psych reports to be sent to surgeon office. Then will be submitted to my insurance. The nurse have tentatively schedule surgery for August 11 pending insurance approval. I'm praying that I get the approval and in a reasonable time frame to keep this date. Fingers crossed!!!!
