Whats on YOUR skinny list?!!?

Recommended Posts

So, I was thinking today about all the things that I want to be able to do once i reach my goal, and these are things that i'm not even going to try until then, so that its sooooo much more enjoyable.....

Heres my list:

- Horse back riding

- rock climbing

- go on rides at Canada's Wonderland and not get kicked off (believe me, this happened, and it was mortifying!!)

- run 10km race

- start a weekly sport to meet new people

- get a head to toe makeover

- surprise someone i haven't seen in years

- try on my wedding dress (haven't put it on since that day, and its a size 26.... right now i'm about an 18!)

Whats on YOUR list??

I love that you have a weekly sport on your list. For the same Reason, I joined My local Roller Derby team, as an official. I thought is was a good way to be social (Im a bit introvert) and its a good opportunity to do something that is both fun and NOT SEDENTARY.

I get a lot of exercise in Derby because it requires you move around. Girls of all shapes and sizes participate as skaters or officials. You should consider the Awesomeness of Roller Derby.

I have a loooooooong list to help me during bad/tough days. :)

I just saw a roller rink reopened up and thought - I wonder if skates would even fit around my ankles. So, that's going on my list - being able to wear roller skates that are killer-tight !

Awesome! You can do it! And you'll have so much fun too! BTW here's my list:

1. Do the Susan G Komen breast Cancer walk

2. Go swimming at least once a month in the summer

3. Ride in the World Naked Bike Ride in protest of oil dependency

4. Become a skating referee for my Roller Derby team

I LOVE your list!!! I have wanted to play Roller Derby for a long time, that's definitely on my skinny list for sure. I love #3 the best on your list. That's awesome!

Mine are:

1. Kayaking

2. Horseback riding

3. Running in any footrace, but my ultimate goal is to do a triathlon

4. Sit on the beach in a bikini

5. Mountain climbing; I'd love to climb a 14'er in Colorado.

6. Become a yoga instructor (another goal of mine is to write a book about modifying yoga poses so that people can do them at any size, since I started doing yoga when I weighed 80 pounds more than I do now).

7. Join a belly dance troupe

8. Ride mountain bikes

9. Swimming... all the time... yes!

10. Rock climbing

(Can you tell I really like physical stuff?)

11. Be able to dance all night at the club :)

There are a lot more too, but that's a good start I think.

I always wanted to be scuba certified. I was always afraid there wouldn't be a wet suit big enough.

I signed up for classes and am doing my certification tomorrow in the ocean! To my surprise, I am the smallest girl in the class and the only one that was able to complete the 20 lap swim test and beat all but one of the guys!

Yay me!

Oh and my next adventures are kayaking, paddle boarding and biking. Plus I am getting ready to start a Couch to 5k program in the hopes of someday running a half marathon!

I always wanted to swim with the whales at Seaworld instead of being mistaken for one

I got lapband surgery because I was tired of being followed by a family of Eskimoes whenever I went swimming

I don't have a skinny list, but I have a healthy list. Here are a few:

1. Ninja wrestle with my grandson without being out of breath and struggling to get up off the floor.

2. Hear my husband say "slow down, I can't keep up with you".

3. Be able to dance at a wedding without sweating like a man.

4. Pick out clothes I actually LIKE and want to wear, without worrying that the biggest size is gonna be too little.

Good luck to everyone working toward their goals....I think this journey will be amazing!

Love the goals! From simple to extreme, they are all attainable!

Here are some of mine:

Walk without my thighs rubbing

Buy clothes not located in the "Woman's" section

Play with my nephew without giving out before him

Wear smaller uniforms at work

Have people NOT recognize me in old photos

Feel good about myself and my point in life

Get off this blood pressure medicine!

Good luck, everyone!

Oh how I love to hear others have the same wishes! Mine definitely include rock climbing, running after my kids and them not leaving me in their dust!, finishing a 5k, and actually wearing "nighty" type things without having to turn the lights off to hide myself!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
