I am having surgery Thursday June 30th. Should I shave, trim, or even remotely care about my nether regions?

*Note: I am single and haven't gotten any action in YEARS so it's a wilderness down there*

laugh.gif You'll be naked under your gown, but they're not going to get anywhere near the danger zone. I didn't bother trimming... maybe I should have... but I think you're safe!

I'm gonna trim the hedges but don't shave because you don't want to introduce staph just in case. Makes me wish I followed through on laser hair removal.

The fact that you are thinking about probably means you will be self-concsious about it if you don't do some trimming! I'm planning on it!

If you want to make a scene, buzz a design into it! LOL. Maybe I will do! Give them something to talk about.

I don't think the doc will care, but I know after being in the hospital and having the nurses and doctor lift my gown to check incisions over and over again (and not being allowed to wear undies), it got pretty embarrassing for me after awhile...

My surgery is the same day! I always keep mine shaved. However, I think its a personally choice. I was told they will not be down in that area. I forgot to ask but I read somewhere that you can not shower for two days so I think for hygiene wise it's a great idea to trim her a little. Just my opinion! Good Luck and let me know how you're surgery is!

speaking from a nurses point of view they won't even pay attention and the surgery itself won't be anywhere near the untamed lioness

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
