Hoping this fill does the trick!

Recommended Posts

I'm going to see my surgeon tomorrow for my 3rd postop visit and I definitely need a fill. I'm lucky if I can make it two hours without being hungry (not head hungry, I mean tummy growling, lightheaded hungry) and I can eat almost as much as I did before the surgery (well ok maybe not that much but more than I have since being banded). I'm hoping this one will put me in the green for a good long while *crosses fingers*

Good luck hope it helps.

But a couple of things to think about. Tummy growling does not always mean hunger - mine does it all the time since i have been banded. If you cannot go for 2 hours without feeling lightheaded then I would be concerned that something else could be wrong. If you are eating properly with good food choices you should not feel like this so quickly. Maybe you need to have some tests to see if you are diabetic, anaemic, or have some other kind of Vitamin or mineral deficiency.

Lots of people on this forum say the 3rd time is the charm and it's at this point they start feeling like they are truly banded! Good luck!

When I saw the PA and told her what was going on she asked me about my food choices. I told her what my typical Breakfast, lunch and dinner was like and she didn't see any problem with it. I also just had a whole battery of blood tests last month and everything checks out. I really think I just needed a fill and the PA agreed. Let's hope the third time's the charm!

Fill number 5 in 6 months and finally at the sweet spot. Keep going to your appointments. You will know when you are there. Good luck at your appointment

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
