ghb1324 0 Posted January 25, 2006 Can any of Dr. Spivak's patients tell me which hospital they used and give me their opinion of the hospital used and how long they stayed? I'm narrowing down my choices. Just talked to my insurance (United) and they said they will cover the procedure. :clap2: I'm very excited and want to get this scheduled asap. Also, can anyone let me know how long you had to wait to have the lapband procedure done with Dr. Spival.
HeatherGurl 0 Posted January 25, 2006 Do you mean Dr. Spivak? If so, I used the Physician's Surgery Center. I really liked everyone there! IT was very nice.
ghb1324 0 Posted January 25, 2006 Thanks for your reply. Do you mind telling me how long you stayed in the hospital?
justamom 0 Posted January 26, 2006 I used Dr. Spivak at the Physican's Surgery Center on Main St. - great group of drs. and support staff there. I was banded just 10 days ago.
HeatherGurl 0 Posted January 26, 2006 I don't think we were there for more than 4 hours start to finish... I was at home and in bed by 1:00! I stayed in bed for the rest of the evening.
Kathy473 1 Posted January 30, 2006 I had my surgery done at the Physicians SurgiCenter on Main St. in Houston and it was a great experience. No complaints at all. And they have their fill appointments there on Thursdays now. The first time I went for a fill it was really packed and now they have it down to a new routine and it was alot smoother. Not that it wasn't before but not as crowded. And no pain at all. As far as my length of stay there...I was home by 3:30pm and passed out! Afterward the surgery and waking up in recovery they do make you stay until you can drink a bottle of Water SLOWLY to make sure you can keep it down and then you leave! Just make sure you take a pillow to lay across your stomach for the bumpy ride home...You know how Houston roads can be! It helps.
