Lisa*in*NJ 0 Posted January 25, 2006 I was banded on 12/13 and haven't had any problems so far. About a week ago I started getting this "fluttering" in my chest right between my breasts. It doesn't hurt but it is noticable and uncomfortable. It definately wasn't there before last week. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this and what it may be. thanks
the best me 6 Posted January 25, 2006 What's your diet like these days? You are on normal foods, right? Okay, I'm no doc, but the fluttering may be your esophogus spasming after you take bites of food. The upper part of the stomach, above the band but below the valve at the bottom of the esophogus, squeezes involuntarily when there is food there. It's trying to push it down through the band. If it won't go, the food can get pushed back up into the esophogus, and perhaps that's happening and causing your fluttering and discomfort? Try taking smaller bites, use a toddler fork or a crab fork. That might help, and be sure to "chew to goo" anything you swallow. No chunks...chew it up good!!! Hope that helps. If not, call your doc! Nykee 13 Posted January 25, 2006 that sounds like my 'no no' feeling.. as soon as I get a tad bit of a hint of this feeling.. I wont eat or drink one more bite.. Its my stop point. WAY before it hurts..
