G-Ma 0 Posted June 19, 2011 Hi, I am not sure if this happened or is happening to anyone else but I figured I would post it because it would have helped me if I was aware. I was banded in October 2010, my doctors do not do fills until post-op 3 months. I have had 3 fills since february 2011. My first 2 fills did not restrict me, then I had my 3rd fill and would have sworn that I was too tight and needed some Fluid removed. I called my dr and due to insurance "politics" they could not schedule me for removal. Long story short, while waiting I figured out that it isn't too tight, I just didn't know what it felt like to be full. Instead of sitting and waiting for my food to get unstuck so I could eat more I finally realized that I was done with my meal at that point. It has helped me learn how to eat the "banded" way. I no longer want any fluid removed and started losing weight again!!!!! It is an odd feeling to be full when you aren't used to it, just slow down and try to recognize it )
lea3277 6 Posted June 19, 2011 i have been wondering how I would know when I was full. I just got banded on Thursday and obviously can't tell I even have the band at this point. I'm glad you made this post.
54Shirley 105 Posted June 19, 2011 I know exactly what you mean. I am going threw the same thing too. I went to my PCP and dropped around 6 lbs in 2 weeks. I'm Happy with it.
G-Ma 0 Posted June 19, 2011 Off topic but how do you get the ticker on the bottom of your profile?
54Shirley 105 Posted June 19, 2011 Go to tickerfactory.com and desighn your ticker there. You will see some boxes with computer wording in them, copy and paste the first box to your profile."ABOUT ME" It will stay in there, and you will have a ticker. AngelaL 0 Posted June 19, 2011 I have to tell you that I have had the exact same light go off for me this week; just had my 3rd fill about 2 weeks ago, and told my NP that I really didn't know when I was "full". My eyes and head were telling me that I needed to eat more, but the stuck feeling was not really "stuck" per se -I had reached my limit and eating more was making me miserable. Finally after almost 6 months banded I have seen the light! This has truly given me faith again that I made the right decision having this surgery. Finally...... YAY! Cocoabean 430 Posted June 19, 2011 It took me a long time to realize that my mouth wanted to keep eating even when my stomach was done.It seems to me that our brains and mouths are programed for "this much" sensation and if we don't reach that amount, we keep eating until we are uncomfortable or in pain. It takes a lot of effort to overcome that desire to reach that level of satisfaction, but with work you can do it and realize that you ARE satisfied with less and will stay that way for a few to several hours. That, to me, is what being banded is all about.

I hear you, and I finally feel the same way. It took me almost 4 1/2 years to get hear. (PLEASE DON'T ASK WHY !) But I have finally arrived... Now this should be a lot easier, then all that struggling before. Congrats to you !
Lilium 2 Posted June 20, 2011 Thanks so much for this information, hopefully it won't take me so long to figure out what being full with the band feels like. I have only had one fill and so haven't felt this yet. Todaly I ate too much at the Father's Day luncheon, and I definitely wanted to eat more than I needed.
