babyk 1 Posted June 17, 2011 I'm considering cancelling my gym membership and buying the P90X Program. Does anyone have any advice? Does it work!?
beergut 2 Posted June 17, 2011 Commit to one or the other. There's no need for a gym membership if you're committed to P90X. I've just started P90X and have gotten through (barely) the first three workouts and my entire body is sore, but it feels great. Makes me look forward to working out. reverie 49 Posted June 17, 2011 I have done P90X 3 times now. It works and I am a huge fan of it. I have 4 more weeks left and this will be my final run with the program; time to move on! If you are committed to the workouts you'll definitely see progress. They were hard to get through at first but now I fly through the vids without stopping. Good luck! dert 17 Posted June 17, 2011 It doesn't matter what you do so long as you're moving and exercise! Go to the gym, ride a bike, take dance lessons, do P90X, to lunges in your kitchen while cooking....whatever! It doesn't matter in the long run. What DOES matter is that you have FUN with your workouts so you continue to do them on a regular basis. If you're bored with the gym, then find something more enjoyable to do. Try P90X. When you get bored with that, sign up for spinning lessons. Or yoga. Or a bootcamp. Whatever...just MOVE! But as to your question "does it work," yes it does (or, rather, yes it should0. P90X combines high-intensity interval training for a highly effective cardio workout, plus strength training, which is really the best of both worlds when it comes to working out. It'll blast calories + build your muscle so you get toned and lean.
heatherbbb 0 Posted June 17, 2011 My husband started P90X, but it was too intense for him. He was very overweight and out of shape. He found an older version P90 that is not quite as intense that worked better for him.
