jenbaby 0 Posted June 13, 2011 I have had my band for 7 years, and I have been in constant pain and problems. Just recently Acid Reflux has become an issue. I have barely lost the weight that I have wanted. I am not very filled that much right now, but I still have restriction. For my whole experience its like when I eat, food just gets stuck, I throw up and try to eat again, never feeling full and constantly hungry. It has been embarassing at many times. I am careful with what I eat, how I chew, all of it... Anyone out there have any suggestions (Besides the the obvious of going back to my doctor) before I completely throw in the towel? borntobealoser 0 Posted June 27, 2011 I have had my band for 1 1/2 years. I have struggled with pain since they put Fluid in. Recently it came to a head and I had terrible acid reflex, sinus infection, and horrible cough. I was to the point that I was sleeping in a chair and upright. Which I can't do. No matter what kind of meat I ate it hurt. It didn't matter if it was soft or rough. I went to the dr. and asked for help and they took some Fluid out for about 30 days, to let my esophagus heal. Yes I gained weight, but I feel much much better. Now they are putting it back in slowly. I wonder if the band was on a pain nerve, because now it doesn't hurt and I can truely feel the fullness. Just and idea. Good luck and don't give up!!! I have had my band for 7 years, and I have been in constant pain and problems. Just recently Acid Reflux has become an issue. YngGram 73 Posted July 3, 2011 I had a problem similar last year. I kept trying to eat and it kept coming back. I gave into to my husband and had some taken out. Based on things I have read here the last couple of days what I should have done: STOP trying to eat. My throat was irritated and swollen. liquids for a few days would have let the swelling go down. Then I should have done mushes and eased back into solids. Warm drinks in the mornings even now seem to open me up for lunch. A few sips of hot tea relax things so food passes a little easier. I know we are not to drink with meals, so only a couple of sips are needed.
