new to forum + bmi tracker off?

Recommended Posts

I'm new to LB forums -- so hello! My name is Becca and I was banded 6.8.10 with an Allergan AP S (10 cc standard) band. I have 3.25 cc's in my band thus far. In total I've lost 135 pounds since the start of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. My HW was 325 and my lowest weight was 188.2. My goal is 145. I'm currently at about 189-190 pounds, so I have about 45 pounds to go to reach my goal. I'd like to do so by 11.11.11. If I don't make it by that date, I don't really care...it's just something to work towards!

I just wanted to give a quick introduction of my weight loss journey.

I'm not sure how often I'll check in here - but I just wanted to get started.

Thanks for checking in!

Also, quick question -- is anyone else's BMI tracker off? Mine says my BMI is 35 something, when it is 28. Hmmm..

Thanks and take care!

Bec

Congratulations of your awesome weight loss. Looks like you just celebrated your 1st bandaversary, and are very close to goal.

I think that you have a very realistic goal of 11-11-11. My only caveat is that the last 30 or so lbs go slower because you a re getting smaller and the closer to gaol the harder, it seems. Good luck. Karen.. And welcome to the forum!

I noticed the same thing my BMI is around 42, and it also says that my BMI is 35. It must be stuck at 35.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
