sorcia1 2 Posted June 12, 2011 Hi All, I'm getting banded sometime in July and am starting to try to find my Protein shakes (and bars for later). I am lactose and whey intolerant and was wondering if anyone else was also, and if you have any recommendations. Thanks! Shauna
CheckYes 46 Posted June 13, 2011 Optimum Nutrition's Soy Protein is delish. The strawberry is not good but the chocolate and vanilla are good.
54Shirley 105 Posted June 13, 2011 Muscle Milk Light is very good. The only one I didn't care for was chocolate. Now there Chocolate Milk flavor is very good though. Just google Muscle Milk Light, and start searching for the cheapest price.
vickyd 24 Posted June 13, 2011 I use Isopure (chocolate and vanilla - I didn't like the fruit flavors). I also like Muscle Milk Light but I did have some issues with it right after surgery (now, it's fine). I buy the powder and mix it with Vanilla Light Soy. I looked up Muscle Milk Light, and 2 conflicting answers. (MAYBE IT DEPENDS ON THE FLAVOR, I HAVE NO IDEA.) One had no types of Whey at all in the ingredients. The strawberry had several different kinds listed in the ingredients. So I looked at a jug, and I don't see any Whey ingredients listed. That's the best I can tell you, Wright of the Jug. roziecakes 20 Posted June 13, 2011 This might sound really weird, but you can also get hemp Protein. Because I have hormonal problems, I shy away from whey protein and also soy as welll, and I use hemp Protein Powder. It's a little expensive, but it's great! I just had to get over it being 'hemp.' It doesn't mean you're eating pot.

Cocoabean 430 Posted June 14, 2011 It doesn't mean you're eating pot. Rats! I wonder if it would show on a urine drug test? Like poppy seeds can show on some tests as an Opiate..?

CheckYes 46 Posted June 15, 2011 Shirley, I looked at the manufacturers website for Muscle Milk Light. It contains whey. What type of Protein does the label for the one you drink say it has in it? What flavor is it? I'm interested because I can't have whey and am looking for a new shake. If you mean MUSCLE MILK I don't drink that. I only drink MUSCLE MILK LIGHT. Let me know if I can help you.
