Did your shoe size change with weight loss?

Recommended Posts

As I gained large amounts of weight my shoe size went from a 9 to an 11. I am only 2 weeks into this lapband journey but I am wondering if your shoe size changed after you lost a lot of weight.

Yes. I wore 11W before. Now I don't need the wide anymore and can wear some 10's.

I was wearing a 8 1/2W or 9 - and now I can fit in a regular 8 1/2 and in some cases an 8

I stayed the same size, but my foot is deffinately more narrow. Some of my shoes got too loose.

Definitely. I went from having to buy 13W to a regular old 12. You lose fat from places you didn't realize you had it.

My hat size went down as well. blink.gif

I, also, had a big change in shoe size. I went from 8 1/2 or 9 w to 7 1/2 m. There were no 2 ways around it, I had to donate all my shoes and buy new ones. I, now, only own 1 pair flats, 2 dress sandals and 1 pair sneakers, 2 pair flip flops. I used to have at least 25 pairs in my closet. I have a friend who was banded 2 weeks ago that I advised that she would probably have to get rid of her shes, too! Karen

Thanks for all the responses - I will wait awhile to purchase new shoes in anticipation of a reduction in size!

I feel like mine have shrunk a tad, I wear an 11, I'm finding some are too big now. I feel like I probably wear a 10.5 which doesn't exist haha laugh.gif

yes - Size 8 down to 7. Sandals I wore last spring no longer fit correctly - there is so much room.

My shoe size changed from sizes 8 to 8.5 to size 7. One can only imagine how many shoes are wasted and that`s what makes me miserable but I guess it`s a blessing!

I expected that I would have to buy new clothes but I was surprised that I am having to purchase new shoes too. I am 6 months out and have had to hand down several pairs of adorable shoes to my mother because I can't keep them on any more.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
