Ok... so I had my surgery about a year ago and this past month well week as been soo odd!! Everything I eat is getting suck!! I try the normal foods I eat, eggs for Breakfast, Soup for lunch... I end up throwing it up because it's so uncomfortable :( Could my fill be to tight? Is it just me and extra Water weight? Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

I had this same thing happen to me...my doctor told me that anytime something gets stuck in the band your stomachs natural reaction is to swell up around the obstruction. So even after the piece of celery that was stuck in my band came unstuck my stomach was still swollen and took about a week to go down. I had to go for an unfill to be able to tolerate food again. You will notice your stomach is still swollen from you not feeling hunger. Your stomach won't growl or anything but once the swelling goes down you will start to feel that hunger come back again

Thinking back to right before the issues I was having I swallowed a large pill. I didn't crush it up or anything and I think that might have caused some of the issues. At this point though I have just gotten the .25cc removed and I still am feeling restriction and lost another 5lbs. So far so good. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
