Nume31 1 Posted June 6, 2011 Hi All, I started my CLD on 5/31 my surgery date is 6/14. I would have rather had my JAW wired shut this entire time! I can only have 3 Protein shakes, Jello, broth, crystal light, and Water....I am going to be honest here I have "Cheated".....I have 8 days left and I am not sure I can make it thru. My brother is graduating on 6/9 and my family is planning a huge party after... : ( I am scared the only way I won't be able to put something in my mouth is if I DONT SHOW UP..... I have lost about 14lbs since I have gotten approved....274 to 260, but I am worried if I continue to "nibble" on food I won't get my band.... : ( Is there any advice ANYONE can offer to help me thru and make it to 6/14! vickyd 24 Posted June 6, 2011 I understand where you are coming from...my pre-op diet was just like yours and I started mine the week before Thanksgiving. It was hard to get through the day (and I will admit to having a bite or two of turkey) but I got through it and moved on. What worked for me was to stay away from the table and focus on socializing with everyone. Make sure you have a Protein shake before you go to the party (so you aren't starving) and bring some broth to sip and Jello to eat while you are there so you aren't just standing around with nothing to do. livingmydream 6 Posted June 6, 2011 Don't give up! You can do this. Some of us out here are in the very same boat with you and feel like giving up. Don't do it! The reality is that this is a very short snapshot in time and the results from this type fo self-restraint are worth way more than any bite of food.
