CheckYes 46 Posted June 6, 2011 I don't even know what there would be to drain. I know I didn't have anything to drain.
firefly0610 0 Posted June 6, 2011 No, you will not have a "Drain". But you will have a pain/ nausea pump, that will have a very tiny tube that goes into your lower abdomen. You will have it for about a week.
Chickie55 0 Posted June 6, 2011 I never had any pain/nausea pump!! And no drain!! Just 5 little incisions. Within two weeks they were pretty much healed. Good Luck with your surgery, you will be just fine!!

CheckYes 46 Posted June 6, 2011 Wait a second - some people do get a pain med pump. I didn't but I have seen people on this forum post about it.
sweetpea61956 6 Posted June 6, 2011 I never had a drain or a pump of any sort. I imagine it depends on each doctor and patient for the pump. Talk to your doctor!
vickyd 24 Posted June 6, 2011 I did have a pain pump after surgery but it was attached to my IV and I only had it for the overnight stay. I have never heard of anyone having a pain pump directly to their abdomen for lap band surgery...that is more for a tummy tuck...
NJGirl32 43 Posted June 6, 2011 Yes, the pain pump is for the hospital-they aren't goingto let you walk out of there attached to a morphine drip! lol And it goes into your IV. No drains of any sort on this surgery!
Debora Anne 3 Posted June 6, 2011 Ni drain - I am not aware of a pain pump for a week - they will give you pain meds when you go home
waynef 25 Posted June 6, 2011 no kind of drain for me, I was in and out in 6 hours total, admission to going home, easy procedure, no worries.
