Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Will u throw out your "big" clothes

Recommended Posts

you can help pay for some of your expense by taking your better clothes to a cosignment store, here you can sell you nice stuff for some money, as you must replace your clothe anyhow. It is not much, but I shop at these places for a good suit and I will be taking them back LOL! The rest -the shelters or a house -fire victims or womens shelters, many times these gals leave home with very little- A lot of my old clothes are in Haiti, from the earthquque. Lots of need out there!

Name is Lisa Tell her Shirley gave you this phone number over the scrubs. She will give you her address. 1-586-323-4959.

Thanks, Shirley.

My doctor's office has a clothing swap, so I plan on taking them there.

I gave away 12 lawn size trash bags full of clothes to two women in our church who are 100-200 pounds heavier than me.

They both had wls. I even put up all my winter clothes cause i wont fit in them by winter.

I have friends and family that I have been giving my clothes to. Now I am in a size 12 and if I continue to lose, I don't know who I will give the clothes to. I guess Goodwill. I buy all my clothes at Goodwill now because I don't stay in them for very long. The Goodwill I went to while in SC had a closeout rack with clothes that came from Target. I bought nice shorts in every color for $1.50 in a size 10. That gives me something to work toward. I love being able to dress a little more stylishly now. They don't make cute clothes in plus sizes!

I got rid of all mine except for 1 pair of pants...

We have a clothing site here, You can scroll down the Foreum and see it's a new site.

People are always looking for cloths.

I just said pay for the shipping, and you can have it all.

It went to someone that had no 2-3x sizes, and she knew she wouldn't be in them for long.

So point is it's useless to invest in them.

So help someone out. If it don't go, then give it to Goodwill or someone.

I have donated all of my big clothes (8 bags, so far). I have lots of clothes in smaller sizes (I guess I'm either an optimist or a hoarder), but I will donate those too, when I shrink out of them! I've been picking up smaller size clothes at costco (like jeans and t-shirts) that I will donate later, as well.

I periodically go through my clothes and bag up anything that is to big, but also almost everything that fits me comfortably. I might keep 2 outfits that fit me well. That gives me motivation to continue losing weight!

I gave all of my "big" clothes to other bandsters (save for my "Jared" pants that I keep to remind myself from whence I came)! I met so many people through my blog, and sent bundles of clothing all over the U.S. to different bandsters -- and those bandsters have sent their clothes to others, and so on and so on. It's been a really fun part of the banded experience for me. I bet there are plenty of people on this site who would be thrilled to fit into your old size 18s!

Congratulations on your success!!

Catherine

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
