project lisa 1 Posted June 5, 2011 this is what we use in the hospital and it works - but beware it's a hard thing to swallow The Bomb - Milk of Mag, Cascara and Dr. Pepper - all warmed to a temp you can swallow without being burned A note before you do this -- you mentioned weeks since you pooped -- I would be suspect of a blockage of some type - you should contact your doctor before you try anything else or go to an emergency room to see one. Better safe than sorry when dealing with bowel issues.

CheckYes 46 Posted June 5, 2011 If it is Constipation and not a blockage you need to massively increase your Water consumption.
Jessbf85 1 Posted June 5, 2011 Try a tea. I went through the same problem and my nutritionist suggested a tea "Smooth Move' It works really good and fast. You can get it at GNC or some WalMarts carry it too.

becky101010 0 Posted June 5, 2011 I agree with others that you should check that it's not a blockage... if not, my dr recommends drinking 80-100oz of Water per day ( I know it's a lot!)... I also learned from reading these blogs to eat prunes. I dealt with Constipation badly and could only go if I took an exlax. Eating one servings of prunes a day has gotten me to become pretty regular! Hope you feel better soon!!
topazz 4 Posted June 5, 2011 I agree with everyone to be sure it is not a blockage. I had a similar situation, did take laxatives. I also make sure to drink A LOT of Water. I also make sure to take Fiber pills/gummies daily, as well as a stool softener. This has helped me tremendously and I have not a had a problem since. Hope you are felling better soon!
