Longest lap band

Hello all, My name is Paula, I was banded by Dr. Kuri on the 12th of January. Absolutly a great experience and meeting of great people all in one shot. can't ask for anything more.

I was just curious as to what is the longest known lap band. I mean it sounds like here everyone is 2-3 years. Any one longer??

Paula, there have been people on this board banded as long ago as 2002, but in the U.S. it was only FDA-approved in 2001 so tha'ts not surprising. On other lists there are people 6 and more years out. People banded longer ago than that (in Europe or elsewhere) probably aren't online much, since the Web wasn't really rocking then the way it is now.

A friend of mine was banded in '97, or '98 (in Australia) and she is still doing great.

My husbands ex has been banded for 12 years.She is a size ten and doing great.Her band is not adjustable.

There's a lady on one of the Australian sites I visit that was banded in 96 .. but she's on her 3rd band at the moment. I'm guessing way back then it was more experimental than it is now, so that makes sense...
