SherryW 4 Posted January 22, 2006 Can you have an MRI with the port in place? The port has metal in it...its on the backside so the fill needle doesn't go all the way through...I believe. You should check with your surgeon to make sure an MRI is ok.
aaamom 0 Posted January 22, 2006 Yes, it shouldn't be a problem. I had an MRI about 4 months after surgery-no problem at all. Good luck
giveyouthemoon 4 Posted January 22, 2006 It depends on what is being MRI'd. I have had an MRI since banding but it was on my head. I told them about my port and they asked if it was secured down, I assured them it was, and they said it was fine. Only my head was in the tube so I think it was ok. If they are doing an MRI of your spine, you may have a problem...but if on your head, you should be fine.

piercedqt78 658 Posted January 22, 2006 The band card that I carry in my purse says it is fine to have an MRI. That is the card from Inamed. So I would assure all would be fine. I hope everything is ok with you and the MRI gives the best possible outcome. ~Mandy
