msheavensent 1 Posted January 21, 2006 I want this lap band procedure so bad but i'm afraid of the drastic food changes I will have to make, i'm a very picky eater and I don't like alot of your healthy vegetables like I should, I mean i cannot stand onions at all green, white, yellow, none of them, I don't like mushrooms, and lots of other ones. SO my question is what kind of foods are good for you to help you loose weight with getting the lap band without starving yourself to death like I may have to because I know I will need to learn better eating habits so please help me understand getting the band and what kinds of foods you should eat ?????????!! coyotegirl 3 Posted January 21, 2006 I am VERY much like you, I can't stand most Veggies and NO WAY will I eat a mushroom. I even pick tiny ones out of Soup. Onions make me sick! YUCK!!! I have not changed my eating habits much at all since banding. I just eat a lot less of everything, thanks to my best friend, the band! I eat a lot more Protein than preband. Still not much vegies but I do get some in.

Jachut 487 Posted January 22, 2006 I think most people lose weight no matter how well or badly they eat. But I'm the fruit and veg nazi, my kids eat their 2 fruit and 5 veg every single day and so do I. They are the most important foods, with all thier Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. You really have to experiment with finding ones you like and ways of cooking - for instance have you tried grating zucchini and carrot into bolognaise sauce, or hiding them in hamburgers and all sorts of stuff like that. You need them for fibre as well and you should eat lots of colours of veges every day. There's no point getting thin on nothing but Protein and getting scurvey! If you really cant stomach anything like that, make sure you take loads of Vitamins.< /p>
