After my last fill I’m finally feeling restriction! YAY! BUT…. One day it’s SOOOO tight and the next day I can eat almost anything in small portions and it’s wonderful. I just don’t get why this happens, one day it’s wonderful and the next day it kicks me in the butt! Does this happen to anyone else? And if so, on the days your band is kicking your butt what kind of foods do you stick to that are easy to eat??

Yes, my band can be fickle as well ... but, whenever this happens to me the first thing I look at is how much liquid I have consumed in the previous 24 hours. I often find that I am a bit dehydrated. Once I drink more fluids I am able to consume food again.

Good luck!

I do have days like that. On the days that I am tight, I will try to stick to softer foods (yogurt, eggs, chili, etc). Mornings everyday is not good for me. I am so tight that sometimes liquid takes time to go down. With that I just stick with Protein shakes.

You will learn to know the band, it just takes time.

Unforunately, you are going toh ave days like that. Emotion play a major toll on your band. I don't eat first thing after waking up.. I eat Breakfast around 930 am. This allow me to eat my eggs with cheese. I know many people who only have a Protein Shake for breakfast. Once again it proves we all are different. I can tell you that if i am upset I don't eat. Then there's day I want to eat anything and everything.. But I am not able to do so.. You will have to listen to your body. If you are new to being banded its going to take you some time in order to understand.. I have been banded since January 25, 2011, I am still trying to figure out what I can and can't eat.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
