How much protein am I suppose to have in a day?

Thats crazy! I am a vegan and have had no problems with Protein - I get around 50-60g a day. My shake in the morning has about 22gs and then the rest of the day I'm eating beans/tofu/kale/ spinach/tempeh/quinoa and have been fine.

There is Protein in all types of veggies too. The shake that I make every morning is: 4oz soy milk, 4 oz organic apple juice, 1 scoop vanilla spirutein (soy based not whey), 1 scoop green vibrance, and a half cup of frozen blue berries.

My surgery is June 29, and now that I'm newly single and moving towards my best lifestyle - I want to move to a vegetarian/vegan diet. I'm a huge animal rights advocate, and hate factory farming - I want to start walking the walk!

YAY! Please email me @ vsaun@msn.com - I'll send you links to recipes. Peta.org has a great selection of easy recipes too - I always make the slow cooker lasagna and my dinner guests never know its vegan! Also a great cook book to start with is the 30 minute vegan!

I am trying to stay away from overdoing it with soy - so am switching to almond milk and more Beans and grains along with the veggies...
