Got my second fill this past Saturday and was on liquids since then. My doc suggested to be on liquids for two weeks. I found it almost impossible when I had my first fill and made it about a week and a half before I caved and started eating my normal stuff. Well... I tried to "do it my way"... and low and behold... I was wrong. My husband made some great ham steaks for dinner and I took a bigger bite than I should have. WOW... that was a huge MISTAKE. I guess I should have tried something in the mushy category first. NASTY... I really learned a lesson!!! Well... I did learn that I definitely have the most restriction than I've ever felt..... maybe I'll be lucky and find this to be my "sweet spot". I will now Forever take small bites and chew like crazy before I swallow.

I have never heard of having to be on liquids for 2 weeks after a fill . My Dr recommends liquids for the day of the fill then mushy/soft foods for a couple of days afterwards.

My DR doesnt require liquids after a fill. I was just told if solids were uncomfortable then to go back to liquids or mushies for a day or two.

I have experienced two stuck episodes and I hope I don't go for number three!

My Dr. says 24hrs of no solids.

As far as getting stuck, you start to learn what foods to stay away from. I agree, bread for me is no more. So long to those great sandwiches.

I am now truly my Dog's best friend. I can take one bite of something, swallow, and tell that's not gonna be good.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
