olivia24 0 Posted May 26, 2011 Hi everyone! This is my first post. I had my band placed Monday morning. It's been a little rough. I could not stomach the liquid pain killer so I am just taking some tramadol every 6 hours. BUT I am very nauseated and I know I am not getting anywhere near my 64 oz of Fluid in. The doc gave me some phenergan suppositorys today and thats helped a little but I cant seem to get down more than 2 oz at a time of any liquid. I guess I am just wondering if this is "normal" and what others experiences were/are. Thanks in advance.
TXNurse77 0 Posted May 27, 2011 I can't give you any advice since my surgery isn't until next week. I can tell you that you may want to ask your Dr about changing your Phenergan order from a suppository to a rub on gel that absorbs through your skin. Yes, this is slightly more expensive and will need to be done at a pharmacy that compounds but you don't have to deal with healing from your surgery on top of unecessary routes of meds when there is an easier way. Hope you get to feeling better soon! Hang in there and Congrats!!
jlball 0 Posted May 27, 2011 I was only allowed to take 2 oz at a time the first days after surgery. (it reminded me of infant feedings-staying on schedule! lol) Each day gets better...just follow the rules and do what they suggest. It will be worth it!! Best of luck! Hi everyone!
