I had the lap band surgery two years ago this August.

Since then, I've done everything that the doctors have told me to do (30minute meals, no drinking when eating, exercise etc..). Since my surgery, I've gone up and down about ten pounds.

I go to my doctor once every three months and when I have a problem (too tight) it's hard to get there

(I live 5 1/2 hours away from my doctor).

I often have problems with throwing up (sensitive stomach)

and I'm about ready to give up.

I've never actually been able to talk about my band or compare results/techniques.

I feel so alone in this, and this is kind of my last hope...

Please help me with any suggestions or comments. Thank you :)

Gosh, I'm so sorry for all that you are going thru! I just had my surgery 9 days ago so don't have any advice to give, however I wanted to respond to you. I hope you get answers you need here. What does your Dr. say about how this isn't working for you??

Best of luck to you and take care!

What are you eating - are you logging your food - give me a typical days food (tell the truth) are you exercising - Losing weight is all about calorie in vs calories burned. It's better to be on the loser side than the tighter side - Our bands are only tools the major work is up to you - You gotta eat healthy foods - you gotta watch the sugar - white starches - alway eat pt first - then veggies..

Trust me,,, you are not alone. I to have a sensitive POUCH. So I can't follow the rules because it's to painful. So I have to drink to wash it down.

But I eat between 800-1200 calories a day. So I weigh, and measure, and journal my food, so that I try not to go over 1200 calories. I also take 60-80G of Protein a day. This works, because it's dieting. We all are put on some sort of plan. So how I eat, and when I drink my Water works for me, as long as I stay within that window of 800-1200 calories. Also I belong to myfitnesspal.com this is a great help ! Also it's free. It also records your exercise, and keeps your foods in memory, and has a giant log of info. on foods. Take a look at it and give it a shot and see how it records your info.

Shirley.

You've said nothing, though, about what you're actually eating...and it doesn't matter whether you take 30 minutes to eat, exercise, not drink during meals, etc...if you're still eating too much...or the wrong foods. How many calories a day are you eating? What type of diet are you following (low carb, WW, etc.)? How successful are you at following that diet? Are you monitoring your food in a daily log like fitday.com or livestrong.com so you know what you're eating and not just 'think' you know?

.

I'm following a 900-1200 calorie diet daily. I track it daily with myfitness pal and I follow a low-carb/high Protein diet.

And I went to a check-up with my surgeon yesterday and had 1/2cc taken out. We had a problem last year with it being too tight (I wasn't able to eat). Hopefully everything will be better soon :) I'm certainly eating better.

(ex: finally able to eat veggies without them getting stuck!!)

Thank everyone for the help :) I'll keep you posted.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
