Had my surgery a week ago...I've been recovering GREAT...started my second week of liquids today...looking forward to having mashed potatoes next week lol

But question....We go to this place for lunch everyday and I've always love their chicken salad...I'm wondering how healthy it was though...

All it is is lettuce, Tomato, cucumber, grilled chicken, and cheese on top....I would have Oil and Vinegar on it and that's it...LOVED IT and literally ordered it everyday....What is unhealthy with it and what can I have to replace what is unhealthy :-)?

Sounds fine to me. The olive oil is probably high in fat (good fats however) therefore high in calories but I think that's a pretty solid meal.

It sounds OK. I'd ask for the oil/vinegar on the side and add just a little at a time as needed.

And learn before hand about what a cup of it would look like.

Before you get much Fluid in your band, it should work fine.. but be aware as you get fills, grilled chicken can tend to be dry and might give you grief.

Everyone has a different idea of what 'healthy' is. If you following the mindset that a low fat diet is healthy, then I'd eliminate the olive oil or ask for it on the side and just put a tiny bit on. Personally, I follow a low carb, moderate Protein, high fat way of eating. So your lunch sounds very healthy to me...minus the Tomato since I don't eat fruit (diabetic).

I think it sounds good. When you eat, concentrate on the Protein first. Also, if you want a dressing other than oil and vinegar then get the dressing on the side and dip the tines if your fork in it before picking up the salad to eat. You will still get the taste of the dressing but will only end up using less than a tablespoon.

It sounds fine, but how big is it? A lot of times my restaurant choices are fine, but I should only be eating half of it...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
