glentk 0 Posted May 25, 2011 Had lap band surgery Nov-09, things were going well, until I started having severe abdominal pain attacks. I finally got help and was told gallbladder issues. A few days later another severe attack and I had emergency surgery to remove the gallbladder. It's been over three weeks since the surgery and I finally had the Fluid placed back in the band yesterday, a good thing because I gained about 10 lbs. in that 3 weeks. Been having serious consitpation, bloating, and mild pain issues. Can anyone relate? Plus Been researching on the net and many websites explain I should take liver abd bile salt supplements. An I should flush my liver once in a while. Anyone else experiencing this, or any advice?

mynuday 1 Posted May 25, 2011 I had been having these types of "stomach" pains (untollerable) for 7 years and NO ONE including emergency rooms came up with gall bladder- Well, I am very thankful to say that when I was having my last workups done before the lap bad surgery, my results came back with gall stones. Long story short- I had my gall bladder removed this past week (full of stones and very sick) I will be having my lap band done on 6/3. Yes, after the gall bladder surgery I had the consipation, bloating, gas all that lovely stuff, it does go away in time but it beats the heck out of having those attacks I promise. By the way, Congrats on your lap band can't wait to join the bansters.
jingleboob 5 Posted May 25, 2011 I had my gallbladder out in 2006, band last year. Only issue I have since the gallbladder is trouble with really really fatty foods... instant diarrhea. But I guess it's a good thing... If I don't take immodium BEFORE eating something like pizza or ice cream or anything fried it's an issue. So it's easier to avoid those foods... better for me!
