"I'm eating Soup when I'm not even hungry." We must find the strength and discipline to use our new tool. The Band has taught me a lot about my old habit of 'sport eating'. Being able to recognize the actual process of when we eat unrelated to 'hunger' is a step towards our success. re: "I'm also at 4 weeks with NO binging." Congratulations. It takes many such steps in our journey. You can do it!!!

Howdy!

I started the process at 450 lbs on 11/17/10, 8 months later I am down 127.8 to 322.2 lbs :) It can be done... trust me! Yeah you will have good days and bad days but thats just life. Make sure that you do starting measurements ofyour body. That way when the scale doesnt move but you know your body is changing you can see the measurements. I didnt measure and I wish that I had.

I'm in chat a lot since I am a teacher who has the summer off.

Just under 200 lbs to lose when I started. 412 lbs in April 2010. I arrived in Twoderville last week at 299. Now at 298. The final goal doesn't seem so far away.

i did have a few months at 306 lbs. Then I changed my diet and began a new exercise routine and it just started falling away again.

I bought an XL men's shirt at Kohls and it fits. Now I just have to face this coach airplane seat in 2 weeks and I am very scared.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
