Does anyone use Fill Center USA?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm going to be banded in Mexico at the end of June and am trying to figure out where to go for my fills and the cost etc. since I am a self pay. Does anyone use fill center USA? What is your experience with them? Are they expensive, do you get a lot out of going to them? Any info would be great!

Thanks,

Heather in Oregon

I have heard nothing but good things....they are a network of practitioners and I believe the website is www.fillcentersusa.com . I was all set up to use them and my own doc finally let me have an early fill, but I was pleased with all my interactions with them.

Love Fill Centers! I post about them all the time because so many people that go out of country are left without a doc that will accept them. They will take patients that have gone foreign and are sooo nice. I have used several of their providers because I travel and like them all. The one in Oregon is a lady and have read good posts on her. But if you will call Fill Centers they will even tell you how experienced she is. 866 345 5872. Hope this helped

Where in Oregon do you live? I found an excellent lady to do my fills. She works in both Eugene and Portland. I was using my surgeon's office for fills but became impatient about how slow they were. They would just randomly decide how much to fill. Plus they charged $225 per fill. This lady uses a technique to listen to how long it takes for Water to pass through the band in order to determine how much of a fill to give. Plus she only charges $180. If I had continued with my surgeon's office I would have gone several more times, waiting several more months for restriction, and paid a lot more. Her name is Dr Kelly Fitzpatrick, www.gastricbands.com. I haven't tried Fill Centers. Since both have good reviews, go with who ever is closer and costs less.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
