SWizard 0 Posted May 20, 2011 So hello....The long and short of my arrival...I am getting banded for the second time this coming Wed. I first got banded in 2004 but it eroded and came out only 5 months later. I swore I'd never haver surgery again (like any kind of surgery, like never walk into a hospital again) let alone get banded again but the truth of the matter is, I have hit the bottom. Or rather, I feel the botom skimming against my toes and I don't like the way the goo and guck of the bottom feels--I am terrified of what hitting it will feel like if I hate the way my toes feel touching it. Anywho, my surgery is this coming Wednesday. I'm really nervous...to get surgery again, to not know whether for sure I'm getting banded or if there will be too much scar tissue and I will have to get the bypass (the doctor won't know until he gets in ther). And I'm scared that I will screw this up. I have screwed up so many diets and attempts at "change of life" and this has to be different. Im not usually good at reaching out or asking for help; I'm the girl who helps everyone else out, but I'm here because I know I wil not be able to get through this alone. I am grateful tha a site like this exists and that there are so many people out there to talk with. In addition to introducing mysyelf, I was wondering if anyone here has a good suggestion for a book on lfe after banding/surgery. I've seen alot of books out there but I don't know which to get. I have been told the cook book Eating Wel After Weight Loss Surgery is great. But I'm talking more about a book like the posts you all write or someone's story that has inspired you. I look forward to chatting with you all and leaning and being lent on. My best and thanks for having me in the group! SWizard
TKW 501 Posted May 20, 2011 Hi, you have quite a story. I wish you luck. I have found this site to be more helpful than anything else. Welcome
Rachel412 116 Posted May 21, 2011 Hiya! I bought and read (and enjoyed) Bandwagon... jean-onthebandwagon.blogspot.com That's the author's site, and you can order the book through her or Amazon. It's a big book, 500+ pages, but I absolutely think it was worth the price. I wish you only success with this new band you'll (hopefully) get!
