Time2BHealthy 1 Posted May 20, 2011 I am going to be banded next week. I am worried about the loose flabby skin I will have after surgery, you know, that jello-jiggler stuff that hangs under your arms. Because of my weight, I have never felt comfortable wearing sleeveless shirts or really short sleeves. I would love to take advantage of this after surgery but am concerned about the skin. Any suggestions?
reverie 49 Posted May 20, 2011 There is really no way to stop loose skin; it all comes down to your genetics, age, how long you've been overweight, how overweight you are, etc etc. I'm 20, active as ever, and I have flabby skin in some places. Weightlifting has helped, but in the end I expected it. I was 120lbs overweight, my skin was/is never going to be perfect. In the end you'll have to decide what's a better decision. Loose skin that can be removed if need be or continuing to be overweight. It was an easy decision, for me.
vlp1968 83 Posted May 20, 2011 It's MHO that there is really nothing that can be done about excess skin short of plastic surgery. What your skin does depends on age, if you have been pregnant, years of up and down weight, genetics. I was left with hanging skin around my stomach, face and arms. My boobs also deflated, to the point where they were pretty much just skin, and drooped. I have had a tummy tuck/boob job and a face lift. I am thrilled with the results. Taking a little break and then will get my arms done, probably at the end of the summer. Congrats on your impending surgery and best wishes.
