sweet spots ??

Recommended Posts

 i was just reading about sweet spots on here and was very interested in a post with the differences in what this means to everyone, i know i am not at mine but like one lady said some peoples sweet spot is when she can not eat as much and therefore is losing weight, my problem is the amount i eat and i am afraid i have been waiting for the band to tell me when to stop by pbing or having a pain , this lady said when she had her fill she got a feeling like Water was going through really slow and i had this with my third fill and told the doctor i was too tight but do you think that was my sweet spot as it freaked me out a bit having that sensation and feel now i wish i had left it in but i am going for another fill soon , i quess the sweet spot is when you can eat alot less and be satified basically but do you think to some degree you have to tell yourself o.k i am not hungry anymore , i have a big problem with this and always have. i need this band to stop me . i actually don't mind pbing or having a pain except when its the first mouthful as i know its then i didn't chew well enough, but i think thats the only time i get any sign, i sometimes get a pain and almost can feel it ploping through the band and i then can carry on like normal does anyone else get this and do you think if i get to the SWEET SPOT i will still get it , i know everyone is different and fill levels and feeling vary from one banster to another but i feel like i am beating my band !!!

You may be beating your band. it's not good practice to wait for a Stuck or PB to stop. When you are filled to the sweet spot, you should HAVE to slow waaaay down when eating, you should HAVE to take small bites, you should feel the "Thanksgiving Full" feeling without the misery of 10 pounds of food in your gut. I do this, I think I should still be hungry, and maybe I am, but I really have eaten enough to fuel my body.

I just said on another post, it's a dance between your body, mind and band.

If you can feel the gurgle of "goo" food going down, you are there...possibly too tight, so don't regret your unfill, but you might have hung in there a bit and tested the "fill waters"

Ortiz/Martinez will fill you under flouro and they are good at getting the barium flow just right, so don't worry. Now you have US! to ask for help! Ain't LBT grand?!!

OH! and do a search for "Head Hunger" there are lots of very good old threads with this discussion. Let me know if you want help finding some.

I am at my sweet spot now....I think I still eat more food at a serving then what they say you should but I to me it's not alot SO I think I am there. I feel full a good part of the day and actually it's 7:33 AM and I am not hunger. I didn't think I would ever say that. It's weird because I don't feel I need to eat lunch most days but do because I want to get to @ my 1200 calories so I keep loosing but if I missed it it wouldn't bother much at all. I actually have it all working together. December I really learned that I could eat around the band if I wanted to so in Jan as of today I have about 8 pounds gone to show that I am for real about this and my head works w/ the band now not against it or around.

I am 2.5 and just a few short months ago that was way to tight for me. Now it's good....so I will stay here until I loose about 20 or so pounds and then get another....well that is what I am going to tell my doctor..or get another one when the scale stops moving.

Good Luck on your fill....Keep us posted.

I think I am beating my band too. I ate almost an entire taco salad yesterday for lunch... and stopped because I decided it was too much.. not because I had to. However, 6 months ago I would have eaten the entire thing, added some more chips and wondered when the fried icecream was coming.

I get a pain with the first or second bite...every single time I eat solid food. I wait for the plopping feeling of the food going through, and then I can eat pretty much anything. Soooooo I am going to get another fill tomorrow. You may not be "beating" you band, you might not be tight enough. of course I am only losing 1/2 lb. a week so take that advice with a grain of salt!

I'm 2cc and all I think about is food and am I hungry, and where is the chocolate! Urgh...I may have a leak, Hopefully on Thursday we will find out. It seems like I am totally obsesed with food thoughts! And at night even when I've had a "good day" I have to munch! I can't stand this struggle! I pray everyday for it to go away. I hope once I get to where I need to be I will put food on the back burner and have other things to think about.

i will have to tell you what a difference having a fill makes after late feb when i get my fouth one done , i hope i get that feeling of full alot sooner than i don now though and i will be set, i am doing quite well on the low carb thing for now, i would kill someone for a sandwich but i am doing good and not cheated, i don't lose on the low carb diet but i don't gain at all either. i hate my scales right i think they need some wd40 as there stuck lol but hopefully that will change soon huh, well to whoever are losing congrats and i hate you (not really) i will keep you posted and learn to say no more thats enough , i tell my hubby to tell me "should you really have that much or thats enough " but he is so scared of hurting my feelings and me ending up getting upset but i wish my kids and hubby would help a little more, i will work on them though as believe me when the i feel fat lectures start i drive them nutts . it kills me when my daughter tells me your not fat mommy but then plays wiggle wobble jelly on a plate with my stomach !! catch you all later sherry xx

I understand how your hubby feels. Lecturing me about food would be the quickest possible way for my hubby to commit suicide! :cake:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
